It turns out I was correct to wait to see what feedback (or updates) turned up with the CyanogenMod 9 Alpha 0 release because there were too many important things broken to risk upgrading to it. Sure enough, there's been a chunk of fixes applied to most of the Alpha 0 issues and this has spawned a fresh 9 Alpha 0.5 release. No, I really don't like their numbering scheme, but it's their port and if they want wacky numbering, then so be it.
The same CM 9 RootzWiki link can be used to read up on the Alpha 0.5 release and there's a fresh link for the usual Liliputing installation article. I'm now getting even more tempted to install CM 9, but I've still got to look at the recent webOS 3.0.5 release which I think should get an install first (if only to be followed by an immediate CM 9 install because moboot will probably get bust again by webOS 3.0.5!).
